real vs faux fur ~ the more sustainable option?

I am conflicted. Real fur is problematic for obvious reasons. But on the other side faux fur is worse for the environment (production and because it sheds literal plastic overt time). It does tend to "last" longer because tho - bc it's technically plastic. Please let me know what you think!

Has anyone ever used Quince? According to their website they promote sustainability, just curious to hear more about them.

Unique fiber/techniques for textile traditions from communities around the world?

I’m a zookeeper working on a project about sustainable fashion/ textile production in general. I want to highlight how different cultures and communities around the world use the natural environment they live in to create their garments.

It might not be for everyday wear nowadays, but even if the techniques are still used for ceremonial items that would be nice. I just want to focus on techniques that haven’t been lost to time and could spark interest in getting more generations to learn them.

Unique weaving traditions and techniques, fibers from specific animals (even if wool or cotton has it been bred to be specific to that climate at least?). Specific dying techniques? I’m looking for items from as many parts of the world as possible.

Or… can anyone help provide me with resources or contacts that could help me? I’m in way over my head with this one haha.

Thanks all

Stores/brands like Popsiz and FrankieCollective

Title

popsiz

frankie collective

I'm really trying to change my buying habits and buy more ethically source/sustainable fashion, but I feel like every store I find has very basic and simple styling. I still want to look cute but stay ethical :')

Capsule wardrobes?

Capsules are all over sustainable fashion YouTube, and while it's inspiring it doesn't always seem feesible. I have a messy and sometimes germ filled job, so I have to wear a different top and bottom everyday. I would love to have 3-4 bottoms that I rotate every week, but that would mean I only have mess ready work pants and nothing nice, and that I'd have to do laundry in the middle of every week. Not always an option.

Are capsules really feasible for everyone? Has anyone with a situation like mine ever tried one?

Looking for good athletic shorts

I would like to get a pair or two of athletic shorts as I’ve grow out of my clothes. I confess I do like the look of lulu but I don’t buy from them anymore. Do any of you have any suggestions for places to look? I’ve never bought secondhand athletic clothes before and I’ll not sure I’d be comfortable with it (but my opinion could be swayed), it seems most of the stores I’ve been browsing only have leggings and sweats, or a longer length than my preference
