help finding an alternative of (good people)
their style is kind of bohemian hippy
I recently realized that a solid amount of Good On You's brand ratings are very outdated.
There is this one clothing brand I found called Ghanda that has a lot of evidence of being sustainable and ethical yet is still rated "Not good enough" on good on you. The last update for the brand was in febuary of 2022, though.
How can I contact them to update?
I recently started a clothing brand called Alcove Apparel, we are an eco-friendly bamboo brand and we’re trying to grow. Any tips??
I discovered this app called good on you brands it’s a sustainability rated sustainable fashion company that rate’s sustainable fashion brands out of three categories people animals and planet and businesses are given a score if they’re a good one is good or great it also tells you bad rated cones so you avoid buying from them if you want to check a sustainability of a sustainable fashion brand with some of them are fake greenwashing misleading sustainability claims you need to check them out there first and if you only want to buy from sustainable fashion brands you can trust and like then find them on the app they have lots of different ones on there if your a sustainable fashion business you need to be on this app to get approved by them on your sustainability score set up by them to get a good score or great score so when they have it on their app it will be on there for thousands to millions of people on the app around the world to see it and if you want to build trust with your brand you need to contact these people to be approved by them and given a rating that if it’s good or great then you can also place that on your own website and build trust from consumers really fast and easily when you have been approved by a sustainability company that rates them if that’s the result you want in your business but also if your buying from another business to check them out there first if a brand you search for are not there don’t buy just cause you can never really know if they are unless they’ve been approved by a sustainable fashion app community that does this and I’m going to create an episode on this topic on my podcast show next episode next week that will cover all of this and also the damages of greenwashing in sustainable fashion businesses do which isn’t sustainable and really damaging and to tell businesses that listen to it not to do this in their business and to check this app out and if they want to be approved by them what they need to know and do before they apply to be approved by them as a good or great score rating if they want to achieve that in their business that will build them trust from the thousands to millions of people on the app will be displayed by them on their app so anyone there will buy but also then you can put it on their own website as proof of it if you want proof of sustainability in sustainable fashion businesses then you go there to check which ones that have the best rating and also the bad ones so you don’t buy from them and businesses if your sustainable you need to prove your a sustainable fashion Business by what you claim and when your approved by them that is evidence of that claim and is proof to your consumers so then they buy and get more sales and more cash and revenue and make an impact in the world that the world needs on sustainable fashion in the fashion industry when you know your doing the right thing when you’re approved by the app if you want to listen to my podcast show it is called Fastfashionfixed on Spotify podcasts and now on substack also just created today and is a free subscription on substack if you want to listen free but there is a paid version as well for extra benefits and and founder member price for someone if your business that wants advice coaching on this then you would subscribe to that level and it would be once a month for an hour video phone call on zoom and I will give that to you as a gift for the founder member price but is a level for everybody who wants to listen free will also create newsletters on it and Create a video once a week for free subscribers then paid will get an extra one with no ads to create enough content on there for subscribers if you want to listen there and invite others to join so they can benefit too from learning this information I just found using google bard app to find where I found this app website so you would want to listen to this episode once created and will be a free 30 minute episodes then an extra bonus paid for episode with no ads for paid for subscribers if you want more information on same topic just expanded on for an hour longer on top of the free 30 minutes episode https://substack.com/profile/154281653-helen-unwin this is the link to subscribe free paid or founder level here I will create it next week and upload straight away to Spotify and substack for my podcast show and give it a follow subscribe on Spotify and give me feedback and on my discord community group for my podcast show listeners followers subscribers is free for everybody to join and can interact with me and others in the group on this where you can give me feedback and if needs improvements to it let me know suggest me future ideas for episodes you want to know about or don’t know in sustainable fashion that you want me to create and I’ll create them for you to help you in the best way i can for you and your business so you can get the content you want and then after applying it you will see the results it will bring when you do this with the fashion app I will talk about in my episode next week but can listen to the other ones in there as well already before then that will all benefit you from learning and growing if you want to be approved by the fashion app as a good or great score before you go to do that because you need to know what things they test you for you are doing so use it to check yourself out and brand before you approach them that if you want to know what they look out for and your not doing in an area of your sustainable fashion business they check you for it will affect your scoring so just make sure you go through the content in there already to learn that from before I create that episodes before you go to look for approving and given a rated score of their score if you want to be scored good or great on their app

Hi does anybody know brands that offer Linen T-shirt? Weave into jersey knit similar to a typical cotton t-shirt?
Preferably 210gsm above
Good On You: π§π§ “This brand has single-handedly destroyed the native ecosystem of Papua New Guinea. Don’t even waste your time.”
Greenwashing is so hard to ID. Every brand I hoped would be at least halfway decent is on the “We Avoid” list.

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me I am looking for a sustainable manufacturer, looking to start a Men’s Underwear/Lingerie business. It’s been really hard trying to find one. Even if you guys know some manufacturers that do underwear lingerie send me a message and gladly appreciate itπ
For our clothing brand Alcove Apparel, we have focused on creating a higher-end feel for the brand. We are doing this because our demographics suggest that the people most likely to buy our brand are middle to upper class status, or “boujee”. We have gone back and forth trying to decide on embroidering or embossing (ordered samples for both, embroidery arrived and were not much of a fan, embossed has not yet but it’s probably better than embroidering imo), and landed on embossed, but what do you think?
The website is https://miss-rosier.com/
It seems to be a small brand but I think the prices are quite low for it to be sustainable.
They have a whole page about sustainability ( here : https://miss-rosier.com/pages/sustainability ) but I personally think that some informations are missing ? Also some of their designs are made out of polyester, and we don't know if it's recycled or not.
It's my first time checking myself is a brand is really sustainable. I would like to have some of your advice !
Also, if it's not sustainable, does anyone know any good brand that is producing similar stuff ? I'm in love with some of their dresses.

This is a judgment-free zone. We all know sustainability in fashion is nuanced and complicated, so don't sweat it. For example, your polyester shirt may not be "eco-friendly" but if you've had it a long time, wear it a lot, and plan to keep it a long time then it's about as sustainable as you can get simply by how your wear it.

i.e. if we search for shoes on Amazon it will pop up and show eco-friendly alternatives.
Some of the searches won’t get correct results though. Seems like a good tool to improve our sustainable shopping.
So guys I have written an article on sustainable fashion, giving the inclusivity approach and not the typical supply chain approach, let me know your opinion :): https://mila-ar.medium.com/is-sustainable-fashion-inclusive-probably-not-6d3809a6c704
Hello, I recently started an eco-friendly clothing brand called Alcove Apparel. We make our clothing out of bamboo because it is incredibly soft and also very sustainable. The vision for our brand is very minimalistic and of course eco-friendly. However, I wanted to ask if we were making a mistake regarding our minimalistic designs and eco-friendly nature. On social media, a lot of what sells have big designs on them and are not minimalist at all, and they also don’t seem to care about eco-friendliness. So what are your thoughts on our brands image, will it fail??
I see allot of jewelry brands posing as sustainable but who make vermeil or plated jewelry. In essence they're made to have very short lifespan, because the plating will wear off. I know allot of people still buy it and that's why I made a guide on what types of plating last the longest! I cover everything from what metals will oxidize, the most durable base metals, where they're made matters, cost break downs are more!!
I hope this helps guide you for a longer lasting jewel for those who still buy! Video

Hi!! I'm doing my IB Business IA (a research paper about a business) and my topic is about sustainability in fashion, more specifically how a certain brand is carrying out sustainable practices and how its impacted their business.
For my IA, i need to add in a perception map in order to analyse this particular business. I would really appreciate and love if you guys could fill up this Menti Meter.
Any brands like dollskill but with better quality? Specifically ones that avoid polyester
Sadly we don’t have any thriftshops

Because it’s old things that other brands don’t use anymore, is it like thrifting?
I've been reading today about fast and slow fashion and will probably write a blog about it but this question just came into my mind! Would you consider buying second-hand clothes regardless of their brand a slow fashion?
In my opinion it is but would like to hear your views on it too!

ESG has grown to become more than compliance and reporting. Business leaders are elevating their role to drive engagement, foster innovation and enhance operations, thereby unifying the ecosystem to achieve shared strategic goals.
ESG is all about data. Many businesses believe ESG is critical to managing the growing risks, while others perceive it as a component that merely obstructs business. However, the companies are also opening up to the effective use of ESG data to accelerate profitability and growth. Operationalizing ESG data and profitability does not come at odds. Top-performing companies do not make trade-offs based on sustainability, social responsibility, and good governance value. They achieve all the required outcomes at once.
Hi, do you think that consumers actually care about sustainability and are willing to buy them even if they have to pay an extra green premium?
Hello, I am a HS junior and for a business college application, I. have to write an article about a current event issue in the business POV.
I plan on writing about how fast fashion brands are increasing their claim of being sustainable and using reclycled material to appeal customers and make them feel better about their purchases.
But is my thesis true? And where could I find evidence to back this up?
If it's not true, what other enviromental current events do companies attempt to profit on?
I'm thinking of starting a business. I'm in my business era.

I looked through most of the companies on there. The most affordable "great" ethical company is www.nonasties.in. (e.g. $20-50 for a sweater)
The only other ones in that price range sold basics/essentials like t-shirts.

In the world of fashion, sustainability has become an increasingly important aspect of conscious consumerism. With the rise of sustainable fashion brands, women now have the opportunity to embrace style and sustainability simultaneously. One such trend that has gained popularity in recent years is women's co-ord sets. These matching two-piece outfits not only offer a chic and coordinated look but also provide sustainable alternatives to traditional fashion choices. With the convenience of online shopping, women can now explore a wide range of sustainable co-ord sets that align with their fashion preferences and ethical values.
Elevate your style while caring for the planet with our collection of eco-friendly dresses designed exclusively for women.
I’ve been restricting myself a lot since I stopped fast fashion, and only limiting myself to thrifting or sustainable brands.
But is it sustainable and non harmful to shop at fast fashion stores that have the 100% recycled, or ethically made tags on them?
Let me know!

Hello everyone,
There are numerous issues with the current situation in the fashion industry, but the major ones are mass production, environmental concerns, and clothing mismatches.
I'm the founder of Fabriq, a platform that aims to address all these challenges by working directly with independent tailors and clothes makers.
In this way, customers can obtain clothing tailored to their body measurements and personal style, all while avoiding fast fashion consumption and supporting small businesses.
We are just a few days away from launching our platform. Currently, we are collaborating with a few tailors in Vietnam, and as the platform expands, we will broaden our network of tailors.
So, if you're interested in ethical fashion or if you're looking for custom-made clothes that fit your body measurements, or even if you simply want a unique garment with your desired style, please check out our website at http://fabriq.online/ and join our waiting list by providing your email.
Also, if you wish to be more involved in our venture and become part of our group of experimental users, please DM me.
Cheers.

There’s so many different avenues that brands can go down to become more sustainable, but since sustainable fashion is quite a nuance subject and everything has its pros and cons, i was just curious as to what people’s personal preferences are when it comes to purchasing something new?
Do you like the idea of recycled/deadstock materials? Are you more of an organic materials kinda person? do you maybe check for OKEO-TEX/GOTS/a particular certification? Something else?
I’m very curious! π±

I’ve been transitioning my wardrobe over to natural fiber clothes, but am stuck on tops to wear to work that still lean more professional/normal/cute than full-on granola.
I’m busty and curvy enough that classic button down cotton shirts aren’t a good option. I can’t do any of the recycled polyester type options because my skin hates it and I find it retains BO (natural deodorant girlie here).
I have had a lot of luck with sweater blazers, so I’ve kind of just been wearing cotton t shirts under those, but it’s not quite professional enough for my new job.
Any favorite brands that aren’t in the hundreds of dollars per top?
I track everything I buy clothing-wise, tracking what I have receipts for, where I shop from, and how much I spent on an item. I was looking into how much people spend on clothing on Avage and it seems to be around $1500 or about 5% of your income, with obvious fluctuations. I also saw that people buy about 70 items on average per year. (I'm not a stats person)
I'm curious to know how much those who shop in ethical and sustainable ways spend on clothing. If your buying new the price is usually higher and you probably buy less than the average person. everyone here is very into fashion so they might prioritize buying clothes over other things which will problem make the price point higher.
In 2022 I spent $3,288.04 cad or about 10% of my income on 52 items (don't worry I was appalled at these numbers too). 4 of which were fast fashion, 20 were vintage/thrift and the rest were from slow fashion brands I follow. This includes everything I buy that is meant to be worn, including jewelry, shoes, bras, bags and everything else. even my daily wallet. which not all those things would be included in the studies I took a quick look at.
so far in 2023, I have spent $2,140.43 cad on 35 items and honestly, I plan on buying more. I wear all my clothes in a constant rotation and a lot of the things I wear daily. I found that I wear the things I buy new from slow brand way more than anything else so I'll probably prioritize those items over other forms of shopping. I recently set up a saving system for my clothes to help regulate my spending and help me target certain clothing pieces I'm looking for and know I will wear often, Id like to get my spending down but at least I know I cherish my clothes and mend and look after them with care.
one way I can justify this is that fashion is one of my main hobbies, you could say I have a passion for fashion! I don't buy much of anything else that isn't a necessity, I actually can't think of a time recently I've spent money on that wasn't clothing or makeup/skin care. I have a very particular style, Im goth and only where black. I am very into historical costuming and fashion, and express this through my appearance. The fact that I put a lot of effort into making sure where I'm buying from is matched with my values, I defiantly will pay more to know that my clothes are being made ethically and I know that comes with a higher price point. my recently added saving system is helping so I hope I can learn to manage this and stop impulse buying.
I'm also curious to know how much you spend on clothing, what's your price limit? Do you only shop sustainably or do you shop fast fashion? how do you manage your money when it comes to clothes? Do you think that these high price points are justified? I'd love to hear all your thoughts!

Hey, I need a black zip-up hoodie with no special designs OR LOGOS. Just a plain zip-up, preferrably under 50 dollars. I was looking at this one https://www2.hm.com/en_us/productpage.0984902001.html on H&M, but I am unsure about the sustainability/ethicality of it. If anyone could help me, it would be greatly appreciated!
Hey all!
We are a team of students from Brown University and we’ve been working on this chrome extension over the past year. As students, we wanted to purchase secondhand as it is more sustainable and much cheaper, but we found the process to look for secondhand to be incredibly tedious. So our solution was to build an extension that allows shoppers to find secondhand alternatives for the product they are currently looking for within a click of a button!
It currently works on thousands of retail sites but is mainly contained within apparel products in the US. However, we plan to expand to secondhand anything very soon and drastically increase the number of secondhand sites we search on! Here is a quick demo of how it works and we would love for you to try it and provide us with feedback!
Best,
The Sift Team!

Hi,
Does anyone know if they're still trading? I only found them on goodonyou.eco recently, and I was excited to place an order. I was waiting on their navy polo to be back in stock. However, a couple of days ago, all their products became unavailable and labeled "as out of stock" including their new collection.
I only recently discovered Nisolo, and was getting ready to place my first order only to find that the item I was planning to purchase (a purse) is now sold out. Also, lots of the jewelry I am interested in is also sold out. Is this the norm? If so, how often do they typically restock?
Hi! I'm writing an article about unique creative measures in the future of sustainable fashion, and I am eager to interview shoppers in the US and sustainable influencers for their diverse viewpoints. You'll be featured in our online magazine (or anonymized if you want), and you'll get credit for all of your quotes and optional photos if you have any to contribute. Please inbox message me or reply/comment if you're interested or have any questions!

I like to wear my clothes as long as possible. I find jeans always get worn down in the crotch where the seems rub together. The pants are always still wearable but the wear and tear in this area is noticeable so I can't really wear them as work pants anymore. does anyone have tips on preventing/minimising this? I'm planning to up cycle as many old pairs as a I can but there's a limit to how many jean bags/other creations I can use. although up cycling ideas are also appreciated.
