which is more sustainable, rayon or cotton?

I always thought natural cotton was the better choice, but, for me, one of the wildest realizations is that even if I choose to buy cotton clothing, I am still indirectly helping the cupro rayon industry which uses cotton industry waste to make a special type of rayon called cupro. And, did you know that people are starting to be fed the used cotton seeds primarily in the form of cotton oil (that can't be healthy).
