Yes, virtual clothes. Both a scary and wonderful thought..https://www.thejakartapost.com/life/2019/02/19/future-styles-could-virtual-clothes-reduce-the-damage-of-fast-fashion.html?fbclid=IwAR19B45CgyLxvDvo1NJzkdQTHs5gZxqD-MOlzxQqiSkwPV7QCL_g66zXSP8
After reading this article It made me think how much this could change so much of the film/music video/photography industries and their relationship with fashion. Imagine the resources that could be saved creating a fashion artwork without a single piece of clothing being made.
In terms of it filtering into everyday society, it may be a way off..or maybe not. I especially dislike the fashion blogger culture of buying and only wearing once. Maybe they are returning or reselling the garments but it's still encouraging mass production and a throwaway mentality. If fashion brands offered virtual clothing technology options to their bloggers then no (less) harm done and win-win for both blogger and company.
