Plastic bottles in recycled clothes not a great solution. Your 100% recycled material needs to come from recycled clothes

New to the group and I have seen a number of clothes brands claim to be made from 100% recycled material. Often the textiles are made from PET plastic bottles.

This is not a good idea. PET bottles are already recycled you are not helping drive recycling rates, what is happening is material that would stay in the food contact industry is being removed and used to create clothes. I would argue that it is environmental damaging to use PET bottles to Make clothes.

If you want to create clothes from recycled material use Old textiles and process them into new materials. The food industry actually needs the recycling of PET bottles for there green targets and taking them for clothes actually is a net negative for the planet

This just my opinion I’d be happy to proven wrong
