why should sustainability responsibility fall on the consumer and not the company?

I work for a tech startup that helps companies become more sustainable by calculating and assessing how sustainable each of their products are.

Whether it's knowing how much water waste was done during the process or the CO2 emissions of one day delivery etc and

I wanted to know what brands you believe should showcase more on how sustainable their products truly are?
