Hello everyone
I’m looking for options for a wedding guest outfit which is made from cotton and that is appropriate for a summer wedding.
I’m really struggling to find brands in the UK that have options for clothes like this - a lot of the time the dresses seem to be very “basic” (not wedding suitable).
Trying to find dresses with long sleeves as well so it’s been proving quite difficult!
Does anyone know of any brands or good places to look which has some nice cotton clothing options in the UK?
I want one dress that would go to as many parties as possible. I would prefer it be silk or something that feels similar to that. I don't do millenium -style slinky dresses. Knee or calf length.
Any tips on where to find something like this? I am ready to invest, as my hope is that this one dress would be good for years and cover everything from weddings to birthday parties to work events. (Weddings where I live almost never mean long dresses for guests, I know it is a thing in many other countries.)
If you have a favourite dress that covers all occasions, I'd love to see a photo! I am not 100% sure what I am looking for, so any tips are welcome.

This is a judgment-free zone. We all know sustainability in fashion is nuanced and complicated, so don't sweat it. For example, your polyester shirt may not be "eco-friendly" but if you've had it a long time, wear it a lot, and plan to keep it a long time then it's about as sustainable as you can get simply by how your wear it.
Let's celebrate the different approaches people and brands take to address our common goal.
Hey guys. Do you have any recommendations for online forums or community channels that discuss& advocate for sustainable consumption?
Basically, I am looking for spaces with members that share practical tips, eco-friendly choices, personal experiences, and sustainable product recommendations.
I am already a part of the “Our Green Terrace”on Facebook, and I’d love to find more.
Appreciate any suggestions.
When I last put this white cotton sheet in the wash, I noticed how very thin it was in a certain part. Sure enough, when I put it on my bed, that thin part started to tear. I’d really like to upcycle it and am looking for some ideas. Ideally, I’d like to make something big to try to use as much of it as possible and then when that gets worn out, make something smaller. Any ideas? Pillow cases, nightgown, other?
Hello community! Do you know of any labels that make one-of-a-kind garments, preferrably by reusing secondhand/vintage textiles or using deadstock materials. I love brands such as Story mfg and Bode, but want to discover and potentially support other, less known businesses with similar ethics and aesthetics. Thank you ❤️❤️
I have come to the point where I must now purchase every girls worst nightmare - a white t-shirt. My last one has simply died. I had it for 9 years but the stains are refusing to come out anymore and it has so many holes that its only future is as an up-cycle project. I stoped growing when I was 12 and as a result I have not really bought new cloths in a long time. So I’m looking for recommendations on a white t-shirt that will last me years if taken care of and preferably that my bra will not show through (although after my shopping attempts today this may be an impossible ask) Thanks!
Id like to completely move away from fast fashion and invest in a few good quality pieces I can mend when needed.
But I realized Ive never paid much attention to fashion/style and most of the brands I know to look for are fast fashion. Ive always shopped secondhand but my idea of sustainable in the past has been buying fast fashion at thrift stores and cycling through clothes pretty fast because the fabrics don’t hold up well.
Any advice and ideas for brands to look for? Im into vintage/witchy/feminine and androgynous clothing that is unique with fun patterns and earth tones and I like to incorporate lots of different styles.

Fashion influencers have a disastrous impact on society and the planet. Their proliferation has led to numerous issues, ranging from concerns about authenticity and environmental impact to the perpetuation of unrealistic standards and cultural insensitivity.
Influencers who constantly showcase new outfits contribute to a culture of overconsumption, encouraging their followers to frequently purchase new items. This not only fosters a disposable mentality but also exacerbates environmental degradation, as discarded clothing often ends up in landfills.
The environmental impact of fashion influencers is another area of concern. Many promote fast fashion brands, which are notorious for their negative environmental effects. Fast fashion thrives on the rapid production of low-cost clothing, leading to significant resource consumption and waste.
Fashion influencers also contribute to the perpetuation of unrealistic beauty and lifestyle standards. Another pressing issue with fashion influencers is the authenticity of their endorsements. And, the lack of transparency is problematic; some influencers fail to disclose when content is sponsored. Lastly, the lack of diversity within the fashion influencer space is a significant issue.
What can you do?
Express these concerns, support sustainable fashion and responsible practices to foster a more inclusive, transparent, and eco-friendly fashion landscape.

What do you guys do with clothes that you no longer wear/want? I'm trying to live more sustainably and minimalistic, so wanted to get some insight into what others do with the clothes gathered from a wardrobe clear out!

Hey folks, I'm trying to find some new shirts to replace my ones that have holes in, but struggling to find any that aren't really baggy.
I have quite broad shoulders and things that are "tapered/muscle fit" seem to be ok. Can anyone recommend some reasonably priced brands? (UK based)

Kosa silk, originating from India, is a natural fiber derived from the cocoons of silkworms that feed on trees like Saja, Arjun, and Sal. Here are some qualities that make Kosa silk an appealing choice:

Supports Artisan Communities: Kosa silk production supports local artisans in rural India, preserving traditional crafts and providing sustainable livelihoods.
Ethical Considerations: When sourced responsibly, Kosa silk contributes to ethical fashion by ensuring fair wages and safe working conditions for artisans.
Questions for Discussion:
Consumer Perspective: As a consumer, would you consider purchasing Kosa silk garments knowing its sustainable and ethical benefits?
Market Demand: Do you think there is a growing market demand for sustainable fabrics like Kosa silk, considering its unique qualities and environmental benefits?
Challenges and Considerations: What potential challenges or considerations should be addressed when promoting Kosa silk as a sustainable fashion option?
I appreciate any insights or experiences you can share regarding Kosa silk or sustainable fashion in general. Let's discuss how we can make more informed and conscious choices in our fashion
I was looking at this pair of linen pants from Son de Flor, and the size guide put me two sizes above my usual. I'm not sure if I should trust it and risk having a huge pair of pants, or I should order my typical size and risk not fitting into them.
I looked at the measurement chart, and it was completely baffling. For all my curvy babes, a 33" waist being labeled as 3X is just insulting. The model is allegedly wearing a size XXS, which would mean she had a 23" waist. She's a thin woman, but at 5'8", I would have expected very different proportions. I didn't think she looked much thinner than me, but I'm apparently an L!
Is the skewed sizing just a way for the brand to claim it's inclusive without actually catering to anything but thin and very thin women, or is there some kind of error?

Frankly, I have a deep disdain for new polyester/synthetics, as I'm sure most folks here do. What I grapple with is recycled polyester since it cannot be recycled more than the one time it's used to make a garment. It is still better than new polyester or synthetic fabrics, but I am still curious to see people's thoughts or if there are any advancements in creating synthetic clothing that can be recycled more than just once.

Hi there! I’m looking for recommendations for any NZ based ethical, sustainable, secondhand, fashion & accessory brands!
I am done with fast fashion and looking for good sustainable fashion brands. Any suggestions are welcome.
I'm running a home grown sustainable clothing brand, aadyamoda.com , and I'm looking for some idea on what people usually look of in design in general.
I also believe that the design perception of those people who buy synthetic clothing and people who go for these sustainable clothing are different. Let me know if I'm wrong on this view. So let me know what would you like to see on our collection.

Hi all! I read about MIRUM and PiΓ±atex and was wondering if anyone has heard of work boots being made of non-plastic plant leather? I’m aware that PLA is plasticized and therefore not entirely biodegradable, but it’s better than the alternative as I am struggling to find secondhand leather work boots locally in my size. I’d prefer not to buy leather boots new if at all avoidable.
Hi all!
As the title implies, I work a farm. It gets terribly hot and I'm looking for very sturdy linen long sleeve shirts to keep me cool. The problem is that all I can seem to find are very thin linen shirts made for beach lounging and such. Does anyone know of any sustainable work wear brands? I would also love some pants, but I'm not sure where to start there for sustainable fabrics that are very sturdy for safety. Cargo/carpenter loops are also preferred for functionality. Lastly, are there sustainable alternatives to a sports bra?
Thanks!!
I've been trying to expand my wardrobe as I really didn't have many clothes. I love the romantic goth, lacey, black and red style but I have found it difficult so far to find places that sell clothes like that, when I go on google I get ten billion shein/temu products that all look good but I know are bad quality and participating in a plethora of unethical practices that my subculture (and myself by extension) is entirely opposed to. If anyone else likes clothes like that or has found anything with thay vibe that is sustainable I'd love it if you could share it with me.
I have shopped at Of Earth Vintage for second hand clothes and loved it, for new clothes I get them off of Minga London, their clothes make up most of my wardrobe and have proven to be durable and of good quality. Everything else is just thrifted from local charity shops, whenever I'm in luck to find something cute.

Hey everyone! Online there is a lot of discourse about what underwear is really non-toxic/least amount of harmful chemicals. I was wondering if people had any recommendations for underwear that was non-toxic, tested for PFAS, certified organic cotton and without harsh dyes? I have seen Pact or Tentree recommended but then some people saying that there are issues with the company. I am in Canada so would need it to be able to ship to Canada. Thanks!

I live in Hungary so I want to buy local phone case (not from outside of the EU) which is organic or recycled. I couldn't find any.
I am looking for one in East Texas. I have extra cloths that I am uninterested in.
