Hi everyone,
I’m exploring the use of mushroom mycelium to create a sustainable and biodegradable leather for fashion projects. My ultimate goal is to craft a unique flat cap entirely grown from mushrooms—combining functionality with a bit of fungal flair! π
Right now, I’m experimenting with growing mycelium sheets and would love insights from this community on how to treat and preserve alternative fabrics. Specifically, I’m looking for ways to:
- Seal the material while keeping it flexible and wearable.
- Enhance durability without compromising sustainability.
- Apply sustainable techniques or approaches that align with this project.
If anyone has experience working with alternative or unconventional fabrics—whether it’s plant-based leather, biodegradable textiles, or other innovative materials—I’d love to hear your advice or thoughts.
I’m fascinated by the intersection of sustainability and creativity, and I think mycelium-based fabrics could offer something unique to the world of fashion. Let’s grow the future together! π±✨
Looking forward to your ideas and suggestions!
