i know this sub tends to be pretty anti-fast-fashion, and I feel the same way, but i have been going back and forth on something and would love some honest opinions.
i mostly wear alt and vintage inspired styles, and lately i have been trying to buy more ethically made pieces. problem is the price difference. dress from a small ethical brand can easily cost three or four times more than similar fast fashion version.
i understand what you are paying for, better labor conditions, better materials, and production model that is less harmful. But visually, the cheaper version can sometimes look almost identical, and i am not exactly wealthy.
For those who switched to ethical brands, did you notice enough of a quality difference to justify the extra cost, or does most of the premium come down to the values behind the purchase?
