Linus Tech Tips creates socks with heavy amount of synthetics that tackles sustainability in a different way

There is a lot more in that video but for the purposes of this discussion the socks his team made is:

33% Polyester

30% Merino Wool

18% Nylon

13% Acrylic

6% Spandex

After prototyping sock design over six years they settled on this composition to maximize durability and other features disclosed in the video.

They're confident enough in their design that they offer a limited lifetime warranty such that you get one free replacement sock at any time whether if you find a manufacture defect early on or it simply crumbles through normal wear and tear for the time elapsed.

It remains to be seen how they quantify normal wear and tear but in the realm of fashion it is novel to me to offer an item that will stay out of a landfill a decade longer than other items with a high amount of synthetic materials.

It's not a new concept in but I only recall darn tough offering anything remotely similar to a lifetime warranty and they offer mostly natural fibers.

Companies that offer heavily synthetic products in fashion usually emphasize on replacing them repeatedly instead of designing them to last and the rare cases that do don't offer a lifetime warranty to backup their claims.
