I've had conversations with friends about my thrifting and whenever I bring it up they're usually dismissive. They say somewhat classist, insensitive things like "That's for poor people" "Aren't the clothes dirty? Don't they smell?". I come from a lower socioeconomic class than my friends so I grew up thrifting and have no personal experience with these gut reactions. They are not rude about it but they have no interest in second hand shopping and think I'm a bit strange for doing it. Have you had similar experiences? Have you ever convinced people to start thrifting?
