Ethical/sustainable alternatives to white Vans slip-ons

I absolutely love the look of white vans slip-ons. They match with all my outfits and look better as they get dirtier (up to a point). Vans isn't exactly the most ethical when it comes to environmental impact or labor standard, so I was hoping one of you nice people could help me with finding an ethical/sustainable alternative to plain white vans slip-ons.

Preferably with no logos...

Thanks in advance!

interviewees needed for story!

Hello!

I'm a journalism student writing a story for my magazine journalism class on how college students can keep their closets sustainable. I'm looking for some people to interview and possibly quote in the article! It'll just be a few simple questions on why you think sustainable fashion is important, what you personally do to stay sustainable, tips and tricks, etc. :) We can do the interview whatever way works best for you.

Let me know if you're interested! <3

Affordable ethical brands for basics like tees underwear and socks?

I maybe only shop for clothes a total of 4 times a year and when I do it’s always at thrift stores that I happen to come upon or are in the area.

However I just want to know where to shop online or in person for new basic undergarments like shirts and underwear and socks. I’ve liked some of the stuff Alternative Apparel sells but it’s all still to expensive for me right now.

Maybe it’s rich to ask for affordable and ethical as a sort of one stop/site solution given our system currently and historically. But I’d like to hear what people recommend for sweatshop free, environmentally conscious new clothing.

Sustainable gymwear for Men

hey guys,

i'm hoping someone can help me - i'm trying to find sustainably made or, ideally, recycled gym clothes for men. I know there are quite few yoga brands for women such as Alo but i am struggling to find ones for men. I know Adidas and Puma are making moves here but i feel they're doing these more for PR coverage than being true to an objective of helping the planet.

thanks

Business professionals work shoes

Hi I’m looking for flats that I can wear every day and would last 5 years + and that are comfortable. Do you know any good brands for this? At this point I don’t mind spending more as long as they will last a long time. I’m tired of going through shoes every month. Almost forgot to add that I am a female.

Petite Jeans Reccomendations

I'm fed up with buying ill-fitting $20 jeans that wear out in a year. I've also been made aware of the necessity of sustainable fashion through the media.

Problem is, shopping sustainably in person is hard - most places are fast fashion, which is a trap I am trying to get out of. I'm a college student, so I don't have that much money. I'm also only 5'1", and on top of that, I'm curvier than I feel like jeans are typically made for.

Are there companies out there that do custom fit, or at least petite sizes? I don't have the bank to spend over $200, but I really want a pair of jeans that'll last me a long time and will actually fit me nicely. I'm the sort of person that has one pair they literally wear every day until they are worn out or stop fitting correctly. (But right now my best fitting pair fits me mediocre-ly at best)

Thank you!!

a new 100% recycled fashion brand

Hi, We are Just Supply Co a small brand that will launch in November. We are based in Algarve (south of Portugal). We love fashion but we hate the side effects of it so we created this new brand to make an impact in fashion and helping it transform to a more sustainable industry. We commit to using no new raw materials for the production and packaging of our products. For now, check out our teaser (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L51XTeuzocY ) and make sure to follow us on our Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/justsupply/)

Sustainable Fashion + Cleaning Survey

Do you wear clothes? Of course you do!

My design thesis is on sustainability practices within the design industry. I'm conducting preliminary research on consumer behavior and options surround fashion choices. I would really appreciate some help getting some responses! The survey is really quick, and your identity and responses are completely anonymous.

This might help you become even more sustainable in terms of fashion :)

The most efficient way to be more sustainable in terms of fashion is by drastically reducing our consumption habits. Easier said than done, right? Well, Vetta, a capsule wardrobe retailer helps you on the way. They have these amazingly minimalistic and simple outfits already thought out, so you don't need to stress ever again about mix and matching. Also, and above all, their standards about sustainability remain very high.

https://finestfashionsite.com/vetta-minimalist-dressing-for-the-modern-woman/

Vetta is perfect for busy women who need to always look on point, but don't necessarily have the time to stress about what to wear. Now, all of their new Vetta capsule clothes go together, saving them a lot of money, time and energy.

Is working in retail sustainable?

I’ll explain the title: basically this year I’ve been dedicated to buying sustainable clothing only. As In buying from charity shops, vintage secondhand shops and giving up my old clothes to charity shops. As fashion is very important to me, I’ve even started learning how to sew so I can upcycle my old clothes. I thought I was doing everything right, but something hit my today. I work for a retail store(both grocery and clothing) and although it claims it is sustainable I refuse to buy clothes from the shop because it doesn’t seem true. But I’m working there, so I’m basically benefiting from their exploitation of workers in Asia, right? Idk it just feels like I’m being a hypocrite but it’s also my source of income I’m confused.
