The social and environmental injustice of fast fashion

The fast fashion industry is facing increasing global scrutiny over its role in the fast fashion movement that has caused significant social and environmental issues worldwide. To understand the severity, the fashion industry is now the second largest consumer of water, and female garment workers for brands including H&M, have reported exploitation and mistreatment.

Despite these widely publicised environmental and social impacts, the industry, and its issues continue to grow as the business model benefits both the retailer and the consumer. So, what are your thoughts on the fast fashion movement, who is responsible for its negative externalities, and can it be resolved?
