Title: Looking for Small-Batch Manufacturers or Collaborators to Upcycle Kimono Fabric into Modern Products 🌸
Post Body:
Hi everyone,
I’m working on a creative upcycling project that involves repurposing traditional Japanese kimono fabric into modern lifestyle and fashion items. We’re starting with ideas like: • Men’s ties and hijabs • Acrylic keyrings and key holders using kimono swatches • Fabric bracelets and accessories • Pocket inserts for T-shirts, collared shirts, and jeans • Men’s caps and small fashion items • Individual kimono fabric pieces with fusible webbing backing (so they can be ironed onto any garment by the buyer)
We’re currently looking for:
✅ Small-batch manufacturers ✅ Artisans or tailors open to collaboration ✅ Makers who can work with vintage/upcycled fabric ✅ Help applying fusible web to fabric for DIY kits ✅ Suggestions on zero-waste design ideas with offcuts
We’re based in Japan, but open to working with partners globally (especially those experienced in upcycled textile production or small accessories).
If you’re a maker, have a recommendation, or would like to collaborate — I’d love to connect. Drop a comment or message me directly. 🙏🏼
Thanks in advance for any leads or ideas!

Would you like me to tailor this post for one specific subreddit (e.g., more craft-focused vs fashion industry) or add images and a PDF link for your RFQ?
